This blatant disregard for personal property and local ordinances is not only disrespectful but also indicative of a larger issue: a belief that he is above the law. Margate has clear guidelines regarding political signs, and these rules exist to maintain order and respect within our community.

There are serious concerns regarding Mr. Caggiano’s financial responsibilities. An article in the South Florida Sun Sentinel from September 2024 revealed that a mistake by the Broward County Property Appraiser’s Office led to him paying significantly lower property taxes for years. This error was recently corrected, tripling his tax bill. Despite knowing about this discrepancy, Mr. Caggiano continued to underpay his taxes, depriving the city of much-needed funds. This is not just a mistake; it is a deliberate act of dishonesty and a betrayal of public trust.

Misrepresentation and Arrogance

Mr. Caggiano has repeatedly misrepresented himself as the current mayor in various interviews and public appearances. Using his Commissioner title, he was set to represent Margate residents shortly after the horrific attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023. This attack targeted infants, toddlers, children, and the elderly. By using his title, Mr. Caggiano showed a blatant disregard for the Jewish community. When residents of Margate complained, he brought a Muslim brother to intimidate them, preventing them from speaking out. This individual took pictures and recorded the residents, further instilling fear of retaliation. Mr. Caggiano did nothing to stop this, showing a complete lack of concern for the residents’ feelings and safety. The event was eventually canceled by Coral Springs due to the controversy.

Confrontations and Aggressive Behavior

Moreover, Mr. Caggiano has been involved in several confrontations during commission meetings, some of which have been captured on camera. There is also a diluted police report regarding an incident where he allegedly attacked a resident after the cameras were turned off. His aggressive behavior and lack of respect for others are unacceptable for someone in a position of public trust.
